We will start with a happy picture. Blair likes spiking Brynlee's hair after she has had a bath to make it all crazy, which is fine until the next day when it is still spikey!
Her hair is still coming in so quickly. It's still not long enough to get any sort of pretty (as we call them) to stay in, but we are getting there.
Brynlee turned 18 months old yesterday! In addition to sweating to death at our first day back doing horse therapy, we celebrated (it was actually pure coincidence) by spending the evening at Cowabunga Bay with HopeKids. Thanks to Ebay and Etrade for sponsoring the event! They fed us pizza and drinks and the kids even got a prize. We had a great time, and the weather was perfect! It was actually Brynlee's first experience at a swimming pool. The girls loved the slides and lazy river. Brynlee loved sitting in the pool splashing. She even went down a little slide or two. And, she really is happy in the picture. I tried to put sunscreen on her as it was still near 100 degrees when we arrived, and I think it either ran into her eyes or she rubbed it into her eyes because her face was red and blotchy and she had tears running down her face all night, but she really was happy and enjoyed the pool a lot.
Today, however, Brynlee was not so happy. We were off to the PCMC for day #1 of scans for her routine 3-month scan check. I can't believe it has already been 6 months since she finished chemo. She was giving crusty looks the whole time we were there. Well, at least before she had the Ketamine they were dirty looks. Afterwards, she was a little bit happier. That drug has got to be a trip!
She's really upset in this picture because now she has the IV and the NG tube.
They do the IV to administer the sedation as well as one of the contrasts that she has to have for the chest CT. The NG tube is for the contrast for the abdominal CT scan. Maybe in three months she will be able to drink it instead of needing the NG tube, but I think I said that same thing three months ago.
Day #1 done. Days #2-4 next week.
